ROWE RACING celebrates third place after a strong NLS2

Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, Kelvin van der Linde and Raffaele Marciello narrowly miss out on silver

April 26 – At the end of a nerve-wracking endurance race at the Nürburgring, ROWE RACING claimed its first podium finish of the season with third place. Augusto Farfus, Jesse Krohn, Kelvin van der Linde and Raffaele Marciello almost finished second. The ROWE quartet started the four-hour race action from ninth position in their BMW M4 GT3 EVO, which made the hearts of the numerous motorsport fans at the track beat faster on this special race weekend.

Not only did they celebrate a successful dress rehearsal for the 24-hour race from June 19 to 22, but the foundation stone for the circuit in the “Green Hell” was laid exactly 100 years ago to the day and made the fascination of the Nordschleife possible in the first place.

Starting driver Augusto Farfus was able to maintain his position in the field and handed over to Jesse Krohn in fifth place after an hour. At half-time, ROWE RACING was in sixth place before Kelvin van der Linde sniffed the podium for the first time 90 minutes before the end and later handed over to Raffaele Marciello in third place.

The Swiss driver initially had to face a hard-fought duel with his rival, but won it two laps before the end to secure his first podium finish of the season. After a penalty against a competitor, the ROWE RACING final driver almost moved up to second place, but in the end, after 4:08.17 hours, he was just a few fractions of a second off silver.

Compared to the last race at the Nürburgring, that was a significant improvement and top performance – the car felt really good and the changes we worked hard on paid off. The gap to second place was negligible, and we could have done even better. We are all the more pleased with this strong third place! The whole team worked very well. This podium success gives us a big boost and really whets our appetite for the Nürburgring 24 Hours. We are ready to attack the podium at the season’s highlights and, with what we have shown today, we can look forward to the upcoming tasks with great confidence.”
