ROWE RACING celebrates the reunion of the “Flying Dutchmen” at the Nordschleife

BMW works driver Nick Catsburg shares the cockpit of the BMW M6 GT3 with compatriot Stef Dusseldorp for the first time since 2016 at the 4th NLS round

St. Ingbert, 28 July 2020 – In its last appearance before a short summer break, ROWE RACING will celebrate the reunion of the “Flying Dutchmen” in the fourth round of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) season. BMW factory driver Nick Catsburg will share a cockpit with his Dutch compatriot Stef Dusseldorp for the first time since 2016 in the #99 BMW M6 GT3 at the team’s 43rd RCM DMV Borderland race next Saturday (August 1).

At that time, Nick Catsburg and Stef Dusseldorp had contested several sprint races together for ROWE RACING in the Blancpain GT Series as well as the Endurance round at Silverstone and the 24 Hours of Spa. While Nick Catsburg continued to be one of the team’s regular drivers in subsequent years, Stef Dusseldorp is returning to ROWE RACING after several years with other teams. He contested his last Nordschleife race to date for the team from St. Ingbert in the VLN on October 8, 2016 – and finished second on the podium.

At the 4th NLS round on Saturday, the same “Corona conditions” will apply as at the first “double-header” in the history of the series at rounds 2 and 3 on the second weekend in June. The team from St. Ingbert, like all the other teams in the top SP9, SPX and SPPRO categories, will once again take its place in the regular pit building. However, the long walk during pit stops through the long temporary pit lane in the paddock with the distinctive turning circle is still necessary.

Race day will begin as usual with qualifying from 8.30 to 10.00 a.m., during which the starting grid will be determined. The race traditionally starts at 12:00 and lasts for four hours. After that, ROWE RACING will take a short summer break until the “home race” on August 29. The ROWE 6 Hours ADAC Ruhr Cup Race will then also be the dress rehearsal for the 48th ADAC 24h Race, which will take place on September 26/27.

Hans-Peter Naundorf, Team Principal ROWE RACING: “We are looking forward to having our ‘Flying Dutchmen’ on the grid again on Saturday together with the BMW M6 GT3 after almost four years. It’s great to have Stef Dusseldorp rejoin the team and we certainly wouldn’t mind a similar result to his last race for us so far. For us, the 4th NLS round is another step in our preparation for the ADAC 24h race. We are not yet satisfied with the performance of our tires. Therefore, we want to test new specifications on Saturday and focus on tuning our car to the tires.”
