Dress rehearsal on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife

The team from St. Ingbert will return to the legendary Nordschleife once again before the season highlights come thick and fast in June. First Nürburgring, then Spa – the two 24-hour classics take place within just eleven days. But for now, the full focus of the entire team is on the second race of the endurance series, the ADAC Ruhrpott Trophy, which guarantees four hours of racing action in the “Green Hell”.

At the first NLS race in March, ROWE Racing finished fifth and also underlined its podium ambitions in the Endurance Cup in Le Castellet (6th place). But the dress rehearsal of the 24-hour classic is of course under a very special star. For the drivers, it is important to gain as much and comprehensive experience as possible on one of the most demanding tracks in the world. To use them profitably at the Eifel Marathon in two months is the art for team boss Hans-Peter Naundorf and Co.
Hans-Peter Naundorf, Teamchef ROWE RACING: „We had a lot of issues at the race in Le Castellet, but we overcame these challenges well and were still in the top three in terms of performance. That shows us what is possible. Now we have to complete as many kilometers as possible on the Nordschleife and learn. Of course, the current temperatures are not comparable to those at the 24-hour race in June, so for us and for the drivers it’s primarily about gaining knowledge. We don’t have much time left for fine-tuning, but we also benefit greatly from the vast experience of our team. Ultimately, the race is about making fewer mistakes than the others. Our structured approach will hopefully help us to live up to our ambition, which is always to attack the podium.“
